The British art of queuing

I am seriously impressed by how smart and efficient the workers departing Canary Wharf Jubilee Line are queuing. They all line up (sometimes 8 people deep) by the doors to board. Very sensible, very efficient. Nobody pushing in front. No mass of people squeezing themselves randomly into carriages. Absolutely fascinating.

This greatly depends on country. In Finland, people can queue for hours at 4 in the morning on a Friday night and not push, fight or shove. It's fascinating. Then I went to Estonia for a quick holiday and getting on a bus was an exercise of using my elbow to jam people's ribs. Shocking difference considering they're only a 2.5 hour boat ride away.

Unlike 8.30am on the Northern Line. Used to scare me so much I bought a push bike to get to and from work.
