Free haircut in Billericay High Street. I kid ye not.

I’ve been driving by this sign quite often until eventually, this afternoon, I asked my brother to take a picture of it as we drove by.

It’s a sign in the window at the Billericay Barber Shop:

It reads:

Thursday
Free Haircut
with Lucy
(Between 9am – 3pm)

Geez.

Free?

I can only assume that Lucy must be a trainee, although, if it was me, I’d have specified that the hair cut was with a trainee. The first time I saw this sign, I wondered if business was that bad that they were giving away free hair cuts.

What does this sign say about the other barbers that work in the shop? They’re presumably paid-for?

How does it work on a Thursday morning?

Do no other barbers bother going into work whilst everyone sits getting their hair cut free by Lucy?

I’m not sure I agree with the concept of giving away a haircut for free.

£2 or £5 or something like that, yes… but free?

  • She may only know how to do puddin bowl cuts....? :-)
