Made the mistake of using PayPal with Adobe

I was trying to buy another copy of Dreamweaver — an upgrade to the latest CS4. I simply can’t stand all the bollocks-shite that Adobe deploy on their own website. I suppose somebody’s got to. All this Flash jazz.

Because when it fails, you don’t know where you are.

You know where you are with a simple HTML page.

I thought I’d try using PayPal with the Adobe check-out system. What-a-mistaka-to-make. The process failed with a delightful ‘there has been a problem’ message from Adobe.

I checked on my PayPal account and found a payment from 168 quid has been sent to Adobe. It’s PENDING at the moment.

And I’m very, very frustrated.

It’s meant to be point-and-click. It’s meant to be binary. Yes or No. It either works or it doesn’t and if it doesn’t work, it should fail gracefully and tell me what the problem is.

100% useless.

So now I have to sod about. I have to ARSE about emailing faceless nobodies from Adobe to find out what the hell happened to my download.

And that’s enough to make sure that I tell 250,000 people — the Mobile Industry Review audience — just how shit their processes are.
